Review this week's message.

Key Quote

“You are sent by God to the place you are in right now.” – Pastor Bil Cornelius

Start talking. Find a conversation starter for your group.
  • What is your favorite classic Disney movie?
  • What is your favorite app?
  • What’s the best thing you’ve ever bought?

Start thinking. Ask a thoughtful question.
  • At what age did you accept Christ?
  • Abraham was ready to sacrifice Isaac if God asked Him to. Do you find it hard to obey God when it may hurt to?
  • What are practical ways we can seek God’s face (who He is) more than we seek His hand (the blessings He gives)?

Start sharing. Choose questions that create openness.
  • What has God promised you?
  • Abraham moved before he knew the outcome. What do you need to be obedient about without knowing the results?
  • Is anything too hard for the Lord?

Start praying. Be bold, and pray with power.

Dear Jesus, thank you for the purpose you have given my life. Help me to trust you even when it doesn’t make sense to me.”

Start doing. Commit to a step and live it out this week.
  • Think about sponsoring a teenager to go to student camp this year (or sponsor one with your life group!) You have no idea how God can use you to impact the next generation.
  • Ask God to show you the specific ways He has placed you where you are and for what purpose. Start seeing your circumstances as “for a purpose” not “by accident”.

And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.  I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”  Genesis 12:2-3 ESV

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.  By faith he went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise. Hebrews 11:8 ESV

And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.  Galatians 3:29 ESV

Now Sarai, Abram’s wife, had borne him no children. She had a female Egyptian servant whose name was Hagar. And Sarai said to Abram, “Behold now, the Lord has prevented me from bearing children. Go in to my servant; it may be that I shall obtain children by her.” And Abram listened to the voice of Sarai. Genesis 16:1–2 ESV

And when she saw that she had conceived, she looked with contempt on her mistress. Genesis 16:4 ESV

Abraham, Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” 12 He said, “Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him, for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.” 13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him was a ram, caught in a thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son.  Genesis 22:11–13 ESV

Is anything too hard for the Lord?  Genesis 18:14 ESV
