Review this week's message.

Start talking. Find a conversation starter for your group.
  • What is your favorite summer memory from your childhood?
  • You get to go on an all-expenses paid vacation. Where would you go?
  • Pool or ocean?

Start thinking. Ask a thoughtful question.
  • Do you feel that you “have dominion” over your life or do you feel controlled by your circumstance?
  • We are not made to be alone. Whether married or single, how can you foster community in your life?

Start sharing. Choose questions that create openness.
  • Your purpose was created before you were. What do you believe your purpose on earth is?
  • What does it mean to "embrace who God made you to be"?

Start praying. Be bold, and pray with power.

God, thank you for the godly men in our lives. Please help them follow You closely and be the men You have designed them to be. Amen.

Start doing. Commit to a step and live it out this week.

This week, make it a point to meet up with a godly friend for a coffee, dinner, or a fun activity! You aren't meant to be alone!

Scriptures

“Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors I would give them.  Joshua 1:6

So God created human beings in his own image.  In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.  Genesis 1:26-27

Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.” Genesis 1:28

Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground...Then the Lord God planted a garden in Eden in the east, and there he placed the man he had made. The Lord God made all sorts of trees grow up from the ground—trees that were beautiful and that produced delicious fruit. In the middle of the garden he placed the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil..The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it.  But the Lord God warned him, “You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden—except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die.”  Genesis 2:7-9, 15-17

A river flowed from the land of Eden, watering the garden and then dividing into four branches.  Gen. 2:10

Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”.. So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep. While the man slept, the Lord God took out one of the man’s ribs and closed up the opening.  Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib, and he brought her to the man.  Genesis 2:18,21-22

This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one. Now the man and his wife were both naked, but they felt no shame.  Genesis 2:24-25
