Review this week's message.

Key Thought:

How will the process of transformation lead you to become who God wants you?

Key Quote

“Your breakthrough is in your follow through.” -Pastor Bil Cornelius

Start talking. Find a conversation starter for your group.
  • What was your dream job as a child?
  • Tell your LifeGroup about a nickname you have and how you got it.
  • What’s a hobby you’ve always wanted to try but never have?

Start thinking. Ask a thoughtful question.
  • In today's culture, success is often portrayed as "overnight." How does the story of the bamboo farmer challenge this idea?
  • What is one area where you could move from “trying” to “training”?

Start sharing. Choose questions that create openness.
  • Where do you want transformation in your life over the next five years?
    • Do you have a clear decision about who you want to become?
  • Why is it easy to overlook the power of small, consistent actions? How can we develop the patience to trust that small steps lead to meaningful transformation?

Start doing. Commit to a step and live it out this week.
  • What system will allow you to achieve your goals this year, and how about in five years?
    • How will you implement this system this week? For example, if you desire to grow in your faith, will you pray and read your Bible daily? If you desire to run a marathon, will you begin physical training?

“...in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize..So run to win! All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.” 1 Corinthians 9:24-27

“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin…”  Zechariah 4:10

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”  Galatians 6:9

“‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord…” Zechariah 4:6

"Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, ‘Goodbye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well’—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do?"  James 2:15-16
