Review this week's message.

Key Thought:

“God didn't put you on this path to fail.” - Pastor Bil Cornelius

Start talking. Find a conversation starter for your group.
  • What is your favorite activity to do with your family?
  • Football season is right around the corner.. be honest, are you an actual football fan or a “I'm only here for the food” person?
  • Share your favorite childhood memory with the group!

Start thinking. Ask a thoughtful question.
  • To lead others well, you must first lead yourself well. What does “leading yourself well” mean to you?
  • Read the 5 signs of an unfaithful Christian: “quit going to church, quit reaching out to lost people, let our fire go out, became prayerless, quit being generous” Do any of these resonate to you? How can you turn this habit around in your life?

Start sharing. Choose questions that create openness.
  • “Greatness is never on sale, you must pay the full price.” Have you been trying to bypass paying the full price of greatness in an area of your life? How can you change that today?
  • How can you make honoring God the top priority in your life beginning today?

Start praying. Be bold, and pray with power.

God, do a mighty work in my life. I choose to follow you wholeheartedly in obedience. Thank you. Amen.

Start doing. Commit to a step and live it out this week.

Part of being a faithful Christian is making God's House a priority! Are you serving at your campus? If not, begin this week! There is no better way to honor God than to serve in His House!

Scriptures

Hezekiah sought his God wholeheartedly.  As a result he was very successful.  2 Chronicles 31:21b

Hezekiah was twenty-five years old when he became the king of Judah, and he reigned in Jerusalem twenty-nine years...He did what was pleasing in the Lord’s sight, just as his ancestor David had done.  2 Chronicles 29:1-2

O Lord, I give my life to you.  I trust in you, my God!  Do not let my enemies rejoice in my defeat. Psalm 25:1

Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”  Genesis 1:28

In the very first month of the first year of his reign, Hezekiah reopened the doors of the Temple of the Lord and repaired them.  2 Chronicles 29:3

Our ancestors were unfaithful and did what was evil in the sight of the Lord our God...They abandoned the Lord and his dwelling place; they turned their backs on him. They also shut the doors to the Temple’s entry room, and they snuffed out the lamps.  They stopped burning incense and presenting burnt offerings at the Sanctuary of the God of Israel.   That is why the Lord’s anger has fallen upon [them].  2 Chronicles 29:6-8

So the Temple of the Lord was restored to service.  And Hezekiah and all the people rejoiced because of what God had done for the people, for everything had been accomplished so quickly.  2 Chronicles 29:35b-36

..the Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you...You will be changed into a different person. 1 Samuel 10:6

The Israelites took their bread dough before yeast was added. They wrapped their kneading boards in their cloaks and carried them on their shoulders.  And the people of Israel did as Moses had instructed; they asked the Egyptians for clothing and articles of silver and gold. 36 The Lord caused the Egyptians to look favorably on the Israelites, and they gave the Israelites whatever they asked for. So they stripped the Egyptians of their wealth!  Exodus 12:34-36

The whole assembly bowed in worship, while the musicians played...  2 Chronicles 29:28

I am the vine, you are the branches.  Those who remain in me, and I in them will produce much fruit.  For apart from me you can do nothing.  John 15:5

Then Hezekiah said, “You have now dedicated yourselves to the Lord. Come and bring sacrifices and thank offerings to the temple of the Lord.” So the assembly brought sacrifices and thank offerings, and all whose hearts were willing brought burnt offerings.  2 Chronicles 29:31
