Review this week's message.

Key Thought: We can’t be spiritually complacent and please God at the same time.

Key Quote
“Complacency was the root, sin was the fruit” – Pastor Marcus Mecum

Start talking. Find a conversation starter for your group.
  • Name some subtle things that attack our lives, like complacency, and prevent us from achieving our best.
  • What is your favorite story about a giant? What about it appeals to you?
  • Describe a time you’ve seen a person or organization get complacent and how that turned out.

Start thinking. Ask a thoughtful question.
  • What Is the difference between rest and complacency in your life?
  • In what ways is complacency the root of compromise, or falling into sin?
  • In what ways can people become complacent in their life? Why is it so easy?

Start sharing. Choose questions that create openness.
  • When was a time complacency impacted your life? How long did it take to set in? What did it take to come out of it?
  • Where in your life could you strengthen your vigilance against complacency?
  • How are you pleasing God with your life?
  • Share a time you exercised faith in your life and how God responded.

Start praying. Be bold, and pray with power.
Dear Jesus, thank you for your mercy over us. You did not call us to be lukewarm, but to be a soul on fire for Your glory and Your kingdom so that we can take as many people to Heaven as we can before we die. Period. Help us to not forget your faithfulness in the past so that we can be expectant of your promises of the future. It’s in your precious and mighty name we pray. Amen.

Start doing. Commit to a step and live it out this week.
  • Commit as a LifeGroup to participate in a reading plan on the Bible App, and continue the discussion on God’s word throughout the week. Follow up with each other when someone falls behind.
  • Identify an area of complacency in your life and share your plan to overcome it with your group – then commit to holding each other accountable.
  • As a group, think through how you can put a complacency “early warning system” in place, then make it happen.

So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” Matthew 24:42-44 NIV “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” Ephesians 6:18 NIV “Therefore, since God In his mercy has given us this new way, we never give up.” 2 Corinthians 4:1 NLT
