Review this week's message.

Key Thought:

“It is time to grow up in our faith.”

Key Quote

"When you get your eyes off of yourself you will grow up in the Lord" - Pastor Bil Cornelius

Start talking. Find a conversation starter for your group.
  • Are you an early bird or a night-owl?
  • What was the worst haircut you ever had?
  • What is your go to Karaoke song?
  • What was your favorite food, snack or candy when you were a little kid?

Start thinking. Ask a thoughtful question.
  • How do you know if you’re a “baby” Christian or are maturing in your faith?
  • How can we “mature” in our walk with Jesus?
  • What is the impact of unbridled emotions on ourselves, our relationship with God, and others?
  • What are the dirty, jingling keys that distract a baby Christian from focusing on God?

Start sharing. Choose questions that create openness.
  • What is an area in your faith that needs growth? (Check the baby list)
  • Do you struggle with being worldly away from church than when you are?
  • What are some things that you get distracted by in the world?
  • How did your faith deepen when you made it about serving other people?

Start praying. Be bold, and pray with power.

Dear Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross. I want to grow closer to you. Help me to mature from being a “baby” Christian to a fruitful disciple.  In Jesus Name, Amen.

Start doing. Commit to a step and live it out this week.

Scriptures

Then we will no longer be babies. We will not be tossed about like a ship that the waves carry one way and then another. We will not be influenced by every new teaching we hear from people who are trying to fool us... No! Speaking the truth with love, we will grow up in every way into Christ.

Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ...You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.”

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

Matthew 28:19-20 NLT
