Review this week's message.

Key Thought:

Are you willing to reengage in your relationship?

Key Quote

“Marriage is two people continuing to forgive each other.” – Pastor Bil Cornelius

Start talking. Find a conversation starter for your group.
  • What is your favorite book/podcast right now?
  • What’s your idea of the perfect weekend getaway?
  • What are you most looking forward to as the weather starts to change?

Start thinking. Ask a thoughtful question.
  • How do you interpret the idea of "vulnerability" in marriage?
  • In your opinion, why is it so difficult to apologize when you're hurt?

Start sharing. Choose questions that create openness.
  • Reflecting on Ephesians 4:2, what does “making allowance for each other’s faults” look like in a real-life situation?
  • How can we overcome the barriers of indifference or hurt in relationships, and what steps can we take to show love even when we don’t feel like it?

Start doing. Commit to a step and live it out this week.
  • What is one small step I can take this week to reconnect and show love, even when it's hard?
    • Pick one relationship this week where you’ve felt distant or disconnected. Take one small action to re-engage—whether that’s sending a thoughtful message, making time to talk, or offering forgiveness. Start with something simple and meaningful to rebuild connection.

Scriptures

I slept, but my heart was awake, when I heard my lover knocking and calling: “Open to me, my treasure, my darling, my dove, my perfect one. My head is drenched with dew, my hair with the dampness of the night.”  Song of Songs 5:2 NLT

But I responded, “I have taken off my robe. Should I get dressed again? I have washed my feet. Should I get them soiled?”  My lover tried to unlatch the door, and my heart thrilled within me. I jumped up to open the door for my love, and my hands dripped with perfume.  My fingers dripped with lovely myrrh as I pulled back the bolt. I opened to my lover, but he was gone!  My heart sank.  Song of Songs 5:4-6a NLT

I searched for him but could not find him anywhere. I called to him, but there was no reply. The night watchmen found me as they made their rounds.  They beat and bruised me and stripped off my veil, those watchmen on the walls.  Song of Songs 5:6b-7 NLT

Make this promise, O women of Jerusalem— If you find my lover, tell him I am weak with love.  Song of Songs 5:8 NLT

Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.  Ephesians 4:2 NLT

Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.  1 Corinthians 13:7NLT

There is no one who always does what is right, not even one. Romans 3:10 NCV

Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory.  Romans 15:7 NLT
