Review this week's message.

Key Thought: God will never leave you or forsake you.

Key Quote
“God wants to use our ‘limits’ to free us. We get to do more when we trust God with our situation.” Pastor Phillip Borden

Start talking. Find a conversation starter for your group.
  • What are some of your favorite inspirational quotes or affirmations?
  • What does it usually take to change someone’s perspective?
  • What is a super power you wish you had that would make life easier?
  • What are some of your go-to techniques when trying to change someone’s mind?

Start thinking. Ask a thoughtful question.
  • Why is it that difficulties often don’t just affect you but others around you?
  • What changes in your struggles when you remember God is with you? Why is this perspective important?
  • Have you ever been in a battle without knowing who or what you were up against? How did you handle that?
  • What would your life look like without God in it?

Start sharing. Choose questions that create openness.
  • What is something in your life that you are taking for granted that you need to begin appreciating?
  • In what ways can your suffering inspire others to know Jesus Christ?
  • Share a time when a change in your perspective transformed your life for the better.
  • Have you experienced, or watched someone close to you experience diminishing abilities? What was that like?

Start praying. Be bold, and pray with power.
Dear Jesus, thank you for always being there with us, even in the midst of our trials. We are comforted to know that you never wander off, but are always right by our side. Help us to view our lives from your perspective, and to always boast in our weaknesses so your power can be clearly shown through it. In your name we pray, Amen.

Start doing. Commit to a step and live it out this week.

Scriptures

Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:8-10 NLT This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9 NLT For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16-17 NLT
