Review this week's message.

Key Thought:

Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice to help you become unstuck from your sin.

Key Quote

“God says, if you’re strong enough to put your foot on it, I’m God enough to give it to you.” – Pastor Bil Cornelius

Start talking. Find a conversation starter for your group.
  • What is your dream car?
  • What is your favorite game to play?
  • Would you rather vacation on the beach or in the mountains? Why?
  • Have you ever tried to not use your thumb for a task?

Start thinking. Ask a thoughtful question.
  • How was Jesus’ sacrifice different from all the Old Testament sacrifices?
  • Why is prayer so important?
  • How are Christians meant to be set apart from the world? How are we different?
  • What do we say about our faith when we allow Jesus to cover the sins of our past?

Start sharing. Choose questions that create openness.
  • What new ground is God wanting you to take that you haven’t taken yet?
  • Are you choosing to access God’s power or something else?
  • How do you spend time with God? How is your prayer life?
  • What is an area in your Christian walk where you’d like to grow? What are some of your biggest obstacles to doing this?

Start praying. Be bold, and pray with power.

Dear Jesus, we are forever grateful of the sacrifice you made on the cross for us. Please encourage us as we take new ground for your kingdom. In your name we pray, Amen.

Start doing. Commit to a step and live it out this week.
  • Reading and internalizing the Word of God is essential for all of us. Are you reading God’s Word daily? If not, start tomorrow – ask the group to hold you accountable.
  • God has a good future planned for all of us, and He wants us to take ground for Him in our lives. Take time to chat with God about what He has next for you. Ask him to reveal what new ground He wants you to take in your life and then make it happen.
  • Find a mentor, accountability partner or some book/resource this week to help you grow in your chosen area of spiritual growth.
  • Are you faithful enough to set foot on new ground? What is that new ground? Speak aloud the new ground, why you think God is calling you to it and commit to doing so in front of the whole group – then ask everyone to help you take that ground.

Scriptures

Next Moses presented Aaron’s sons and applied some of the blood to the lobes of their right ears, the thumbs of their right hands, and the big toes of their right feet. He then splattered the rest of the blood against all sides of the altar. Leviticus 8:22-24 NLT

Adoni-bezek escaped, but the Israelites soon captured him and cut off his thumbs and big toes.
