Review this week's message.

Key Thought:

God’s commitment to you isn’t based on your behavior.

Key Quote

“You cannot perform in a way inconsistent with how you feel about yourself.”  -John Maxwell

Start talking. Find a conversation starter for your group.
  • If you could have an unlimited supply of anything, what would it be?
  • What would your autobiography be titled?
  • What’s the worst advice you’ve been given?

Start thinking. Ask a thoughtful question.
  • What stuck out to you from this week’s message?
  • As a Christian, have you ever made a choice that distanced you from God?
  • “The enemy wants to keep you discouraged and useless for the Kingdom.” Has shame from your past kept you discouraged? How can you get healing from that shame?

Start sharing. Choose questions that create openness.
  • “The cross is enough, stop trying to pay the price of your sin yourself.” In what ways do we try to pay the price of our sin ourselves?
  • Do you have a “sin > guilt > shame” cycle in your life right now? After hearing this message, how can you break that cycle?
  • ”Salvation comes from God, healing comes from confessing our sins to one another.” What makes you hesitant to be honest about your sins/past mistakes with someone you trust?

Start praying. Be bold, and pray with power.

Dear Jesus, please help me accept your forgiveness in my life and to not hold my past against myself. Thank you for a fresh start. Amen.

Start doing. Commit to a step and live it out this week.

During your time with Jesus each day, ask Him to reveal areas that you have not accepted forgiveness in your life. Write them down and ask God to heal your heart of the shame you feel.
