Review this week's message.

Key Thought:

He is risen, indeed!

Key Quote

it is hard to imagine belief in a risen Jesus getting very far if one could easily point to the grave in which he was still present.”  - Peter Williams

Start talking. Find a conversation starter for your group.
  • What is your favorite Easter family tradition?
  • Chocolate or fruity candy?
  • What is your favorite thing about spring?

Start thinking. Ask a thoughtful question.
  • What verse/point stood out from this weekend’s message?
  • Did this message teach you anything new about the Easter story?
  • How does knowing that Jesus didn’t only die for your sins, but also defeated death and rose from the grave, reassure you in your faith?

Start sharing. Choose questions that create openness.
  • “The world offers us so much, yet it doen’t fulfill us” What have you looked to for fulfillment in, whether currently or in the past, that has let you down?
  • What can Jesus help you overcome in your life right now?

Start praying. Be bold, and pray with power.

Dear Jesus, thank you for dying for my sins and raising again from the grave. Amen!

Start doing. Commit to a step and live it out this week.
  • Read the Easter story for yourself this week in one of the Gospels

Scriptures

And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is worth nothing, and your faith is worth nothing. 1 Corinthians 15:14

..very early on Sunday morning the women went to the tomb...they found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance.  So they went in, but they didn’t find the body of the Lord Jesus. As they stood there puzzled, two men suddenly appeared to them, clothed in dazzling robes.   The women were terrified and bowed with their faces to the ground. Then the men asked, “Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive? He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! Remember what he told you back in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be betrayed into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and that he would rise again on the third day.” Luke 24:1-7

Let me now remind you, dear brothers and sisters, of the Good News I preached to you before...I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said.  He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day..He was seen by Peter and then by the Twelve.  After that, he was seen by more than 500 of his followers at one time, most of whom are still alive..Then he was seen by James and later by all the apostles. Last of all, as though I had been born at the wrong time, I also saw him.  1 Corinthians 15:1, 3-8

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life.  Proverbs 13:12

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”  John 3:16-17

“No eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard, and no mind has ever imagined the wonderful things that God has prepared for those who love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9

..that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection... Philippians 3:10

Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven—and the future starts now!  1 Peter 1:3-4

For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
