Review this week's message.

Start talking. Find a conversation starter for your group.

What are your “New Year's Resolutions” or goals for 2023?

Start thinking. Ask a thoughtful question.
  • Do you struggle with laziness? What do you need to work hard on this year?
  • What negative belief (about yourself or your life) do you need to let go of to be able to step into what God has for you?

Start sharing. Choose questions that create openness.
  • Work is a gift! Do you feel passionate about the work you are doing? How can you change that if not?
  • If there is an area of our life that is lacking, it is because we aren't applying a principle of God there. Think of a part of your life that you need improvement in and what principle from the Bible you need to apply to it!

Start praying. Be bold, and pray with power.

Jesus, thank you for a fresh start this new year! Help me to honor You in all that I do. Amen!

Start doing. Commit to a step and live it out this week.
  • Apply the Biblical principle that you decided on this week.
  • Do the Daniel Fast with us as a church!

..I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others.  Genesis 12:2 NLT

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. Jeremiah 29:1-12 NIV

A lazy person will end up poor, but a hard worker will become rich.  Those who gather crops on time are wise, but those who sleep through the harvest are a disgrace.  Proverbs 10:4-5 NCV

And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.  1 John 5:14-15 ESV

We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.  Proverbs 16:9 NLT

Though the Lord is great, he cares for the humble, but he keeps his distance from the proud.  Psalm 138:6 NLT

And because of their unbelief, he couldn’t do any miracles among them except to place his hands on a few sick people and heal them. And he was amazed at their unbelief.  Mark 6:5-6a NLT

Will man rob God? Yet you are robbing me. But you say, ‘How have we robbed you?’ In your tithes and contributions. You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing me, the whole nation of you. 10 Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need. Malachi 3:8-10 ESV

If you help the poor, you are lending to the Lord—and he will repay you!  Proverbs 19:17 NLT

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer.  But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.  1 Peter 3:12 ESV

Please test us for ten days on a diet of vegetables and water,” Daniel said. 13 “At the end of the ten days, see how we look compared to the other young men who are eating the king’s food. Then make your decision in light of what you see.” 14 The attendant agreed to Daniel’s suggestion and tested them for ten days. 15 At the end of the ten days, Daniel and his three friends looked healthier and better nourished than the young men who had been eating the food assigned by the king. 16 So after that, the attendant fed them only vegetables instead of the food and wine provided for the others. 17 God gave these four young men an unusual aptitude for understanding every aspect of literature and wisdom. And God gave Daniel the special ability to interpret the meanings of visions and dreams.  Daniel 1:12-17 NLT
