Review this week's message.

Key Thought: God often allows us to get pressed to bring out our anointing

Start talking. Find a conversation starter for your group.
  • Name someone you know that is naturally gifted at something and what that looks like.
  • What is it about certain people that gives them “magnetic” personalities?
  • What’s your favorite story about pressure turning someone into something more?
  • What is it about a side-hustle that makes them so appealing to so many people?

Start thinking. Ask a thoughtful question.
  • Why do you think crushing is so important before you can reach your anointing?
  • How are some people simply skilled but not anointed? How can you tell the difference?
  • Why is tithing important to God? How are you giving your firstfruits to Him?
  • How can you take a bad hand you’ve been dealt and flip it to serve others?

Start sharing. Choose questions that create openness.
  • Pastor Bil said “All natural gifts are super natural” because God gave them to us. What are your giftings and how can you use them to glorify God?
  • In what area have you focused too much on your own hurt and not enough on helping others?
  • Name something you wish you were good at, but struggle with. What is it about that ability that intrigues you?
  • Share an experience where you came out the other end “not the same”.

Start praying. Be bold, and pray with power.
Dear Jesus, thank you for the gifts you’ve anointed us with so that we might prosper in your ways. We pray that we can submit ourselves fully so that we use our anointings for your glory and be a light to our world. We pray for the people who are being invited to the Easter services, please prepare their hearts to accept your invitation to ask Jesus into their heart. In your amazing name we pray, Amen.

Start doing. Commit to a step and live it out this week.
  • Think of someone that could use some encouragement and serve them this week.
  • Invite someone to Easter with the I Heart _______ card.
  • Go around in your group and identify an area where you believe each person is anointed and share why.
  • As a LifeGroup commit to meeting at your campus this Thursday at 7pm for prayer night.

Scriptures

They went to a place called Gethsemane Mark 14:32 NIV As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him. 1 John 2:27 NAS So as David stood there among his brothers, Samuel took the flask of olive oil he had brought and anointed David with the oil. And the Spirit of the LORD came powerfully upon David from that day on. 1 Samuel 16:13 NLT Ten percent of everything you harvest is holy and belongs to me, whether it grows in your fields or on your fruit trees. Leviticus 27:30 CEV Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands! Psalm 90:17 ESV He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us. We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of his healing comfort—we get a full measure of that, too. 2 Corinthians 1:4-5 MSG The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and he saves those whose spirits have been crushed. Psalm 34:18 NCV “..in everything they do they will make the teaching of God our Savior attractive.” Titus 2:10 NCV Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm 119:105 ESV “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” Matthew 5:8 ESV But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses… Acts 1:8a AMP Go out to the highways and hedges and compel people to come in, that my house may be filled. Luke 14:23 ESV When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. John 19:30 ESV
