Review this week's message.

Key Thought:

How do we break the curse of insignificance?

Key Quote

“If God is in the battle, then we are blessed to be in the battle with Him.” – Marcus Mecum

Start talking. Find a conversation starter for your group.
  • If you could only eat one dessert for the rest of your life, but it had zero calories, what would you choose?
  • If you could have an unlimited supply of one very specific item (not money), what would it be?
  • What’s a smell that instantly takes you back to childhood?

Start thinking. Ask a thoughtful question.
  • What does it mean to be "blessed for the battle"? How does this challenge the way we view struggles in our lives?
  • The parable in Luke 14 talks about people making excuses for not attending the banquet. What are some modern-day excuses people use to avoid God’s call?
  • God cannot bless inactivity. How do we distinguish between waiting on God and being inactive in our faith?

Start sharing. Choose questions that create openness.
  • The woman in Mark 14:8 ‘did what she could’ for Jesus. What is something you feel called to do for God, but have been hesitant to act on? What’s stopping you?
  • We all face battles that others may not see—whether it’s doubt, fear, insecurity, or something else. What is an unseen struggle you’ve faced (or are currently facing), and how can we, as a group, support and pray for each other in these battles?

Start doing. Commit to a step and live it out this week.
  • What is one area of your life where you’ve been ‘sitting on the sidelines’ instead of stepping into God’s calling?
    • This week, commit to taking one bold step—whether it’s starting a conversation, serving someone in need, or spending intentional time in prayer—and share your experience with the group next time we meet.

“When one of those at the table with him heard this, he said to Jesus, “Blessed is the one who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God.” Jesus replied: “A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests. At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’ “But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said, ‘I have just bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please excuse me.’ “Another said, ‘I have just bought five yoke of oxen, and I’m on my way to try them out. Please excuse me.’ “Still another said, ‘I just got married, so I can’t come.’ “The servant came back and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and ordered his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.’ “‘Sir,’ the servant said, ‘what you ordered has been done, but there is still room.’ “Then the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full. I tell you, not one of those who were invited will get a taste of my banquet.’Luke 14:15-24 NIV
