Melyn and I met Bil and Jessica in 1998; they lived upstairs from us in the same apartment complex. We started meeting in the living room with 3 or 4 other couples praying for a direction to start the church. Easter Sunday, 1998, we began meeting at Ella Barnes Elementary. Immediately, Melyn and I started serving.

In 2006, and again in 2010, Melyn was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was a business owner at the time, and we had two kids during the severe recession. It was hard having to explain to the kids “where God is in all this” and answer their questions. The church had the biggest impact on our lives during these times.

During chemotherapy and radiation treatments, volunteers from the church delivered meals to help keep my family afloat. The meals kept coming EVERY DAY for all of NINE MONTHS… I remember on several occasions we had so much food that we started sharing food with our neighbors who wondered, “wait, I thought we were supposed to be helping you guys out?” We were down, but certainly not out with the overwhelming love and support we received from our church family.

After moving to San Antonio, God has blessed us with Church Unlimited Stone Oak right down the street. We’re able to remain faithful to our home church, keep the relationships we’ve made with our favorite church friends, and continue learning and diving deeper into God’s Word with Pastor Bil’s messages.

Church Unlimited has taught us that relationships matter most because people matter most to God. We are so grateful to have been a part of this church right from the start. We value the relationships the most and have seen our kids learn to rely on God. We have always appreciated the outstanding leadership and teaching of Pastor Bil and Jessica. This is, and always will be, our church.
